CHAPTER 6 – PEAR DB – Abstracted Errors

Knowing how to deal with or recover from an error is an important part of any application. When dealing with different DBMS servers, you will discover that report different errors for the same issue, even if you are using ODBC. To compensate for this and make it possible to write portable PHP scripts that can handle errors gracefully, DB uses its own set of error codes to represent errors in an abstracted yet simple way.
